From the archive: Killough's 2007 Super Bud Bowl title, Ventura's two runner-up finishes, and award scores from 2010-2016
Today's dig through the syracuse.com / Post-Standard bowling archives filled two more years on our Super Bud Bowl history page and turned up a batch of award scores we didn't have yet.
Super Bud Bowl: 2007 and 2010
A March 18, 2010 roundup (syracuse.com) covered the 23rd Super Bud Bowl. Bob Wiley of Victor beat Sam Ventura 214-170 in the title match. Ventura reached the final by beating Dennis Killough, the 2007 champion, 202-189. The story also says Ventura "finished second in 2007," so the 2007 row now shows Killough as champion and Ventura as runner-up. The 2007 final score wasn't given.
March 2010 at Flamingo Bowl
- John Ingram rolled 278-279-258 for an 815 on March 12, 2010, in the Jack Noonan Mixed League. It was his first career 800.
- Jennette Adams bowled a 300 (696 series) on March 15, 2010, in the Monday Ladies Classic League. It was her fifth career 300.
November 2014
- Peter Moro Jr.: 300 (752), Bowl Mor Thursday Men, Nov. 6.
- Tom Crowell: 300 (760), Thursday Nights Men's at Bowling Green.
- Norbert Peek: 11 strikes in a row (690), Saturday Night Mixed at Bowl Mor, Nov. 8.
- Dan Donaldson: 298 scratch game in Van Wie Open qualifying at B'Ville Sports Bowl, Nov. 8-9.
March 2015
- 300s: Ryan Kratz and Shaun Goodfellow (B'Ville Sports Bowl), Mike Conroy (300-740, Tom DiRenzo Insurance League, March 23), and Tom Barzee (63rd Win Scheding Pro-Am at Thunderbird Lanes, March 19). Barzee and his wife Linda also won the pro-am's handicap division.
October-November 2015
- 300s: Philip Zaccheo (Bowl Mor), Chris Kilburn (Strike 'n Spare), Ron Fox III (Bowling Green), Nedal Ibrahim (Lakeview), and Ray Burton (Van Wie Open qualifying, B'Ville Sports Bowl, Nov. 15).
- 299s: Mike Raymond (Flamingo) and Roseann DiFlorio (Bowl Mor). 805 series: Connor Harrington (Lakeview).
February-March 2016
- 300s: Chris Oakley and Rick Leonardo (Bowl Mor); Steve Sutor (300 and an 804 series, Strike 'n Spare); Gary Peterson, Ryan Kratz, Ryan Calkins and Kris Goodfellow (Sports Bowl); Michael Fedor (Flamingo); Jason Martin and Tom Rougeau (Bowling Green); Kris Camarda (Lakeview).
