Privacy Policy

This page explains, in plain language, what CNYbowls.com collects, how we use it, and your choices.

What we collect

• Things you send us. When you use our submission, correction, tournament or contact forms, we receive what you type in (for example your name, email, the bowler's name, score, alley and details) and the country your request came from. We don't ask for anything else.
• Basic server logs. The site is hosted on Cloudflare. Like most web hosts, Cloudflare processes standard request information (such as IP address, browser type and the page requested) to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. We don't use these logs to identify individual readers.
• No analytics or tracking. Right now the site doesn't run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
• Cookies. CNYbowls.com doesn't set cookies today. The events calendar remembers whether you prefer the calendar or list view using your browser's local storage; that setting stays on your device and isn't sent to us.

How we use reader submissions

• We review every submission before anything is posted, and we may contact you if we have questions.
• If a submission is published, we post the bowling information (the bowler, score, alley, date or story), not your email address.
• Youth bowlers are shown by first name and last initial only.
• We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't use it for marketing.

Advertising (future)

CNYbowls.com may show ads in the future, including ads from third-party vendors such as Google AdSense. If we do:

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies lets it and its partners serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' cookies at www.aboutads.info.
• Learn more in Google's pages on how Google uses cookies in advertising and how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

We'll update this policy, including the effective date, before any ads go live.

Corrections and removals

You can ask us to correct or remove a profile or any item about you (or your child). Use the contact form or the corrections form. We'll act on removal requests for youth bowlers from a parent or guardian.

Children

The site is for a general audience. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children through our forms. Youth bowlers appear by first name and last initial only.

Links to other sites

We link to the sources we cite (such as USBC, league and news sites). Their privacy practices are their own.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date.
